Organizational knowledge creation by higher education institutions through interaction with partners
The article examines the role of partnership in creating organizational knowledge and increasing the competitiveness of higher education institutions as a factor influencing the implementation of three missions – teaching, research and commercialization of products and services. Aim. To identify the key conditions and elements of the strategy for creating organizational knowledge at the university through interaction with partners. Methods. System analysis, synthesis, document analysis, interview and generalization method. Results. The study of the Astrakhan State University experience in building dynamic interaction with Asian and Russian companies and universities made it possible to identify the key conditions and elements of creating organizational knowledge at the university through interaction with partners, including building trust, using intermediary organizations, taking into account the foreign policy and foreign economic situation, etc. The necessary levels of knowledge exchange were identified, such as cooperation between senior and middle management; interaction between teachers and students; exchange of tacit knowledge between university students in participating in joint scientific, cultural events; as well as between teachers through online conferences and mutual educational visits; cooperation between universities and general public. The authors have identified the key conditions and elements of the strategy for creating organizational knowledge at the university through interaction with partners, including: efforts to build trust between partners; flexible structure; active networking to attract new partners to the network; involvement of an intermediary company in building partner‐ships; prompt processing and implementation of knowledge acquired from partners with adaptation to internal cultural and institutional conditions; taking into account the foreign economic and foreign policy situation. The article contributes to the existing literature on knowledge management in higher education institutions and the construction of successful knowledge exchange management strategies within the framework of the comprehensive internationalization to improve the overall effectiveness of higher education.
