Local labor market within the urbanization processes
The paper presents the results of a complex analysis of the local labor market and urbanization of the regions of the Russian Federation compared between 2015 and 2023 years. Aim. Systematization of factors that determine the specific nature of work in regions with different levels of urbanization and determine the characteristics of the work behavior of the population. Methods. Urbanization index was calculated for assessing the level of urbanization. The state of the local labor market was assessed by calculating the integral indicator of labor market tension in the region. Results. The analysis of the data obtained as a result of calculations (urbanization index and integral tension index) allows us to draw attention to the phenomenon that was hidden from the researchers of the local labor market. We introduce the concept of «false urbanization» in relation to the labor market to denote the processes underlying this phenomenon. It is determined that "false urbanization" is inherent to all regions and may be the cause of tension in the local labor market, primarily due to the discrepancy between the increase in urban population due to migrants and the city's actual ability to provide adequate living and working conditions for them. The labor market situation is exacerbated by the mismatch between migrants' qualifications and professional experience and labor market demands.
