Consciousness model transformation in the context of sociovirtual reality
The study addresses critical transformations in human consciousness within the context of sociovirtual reality and the metamodern condition. The rapid development of digital technologies has created new sociovirtual environments that fundamentally reshape traditional socialization mechanisms and cognitive processes. This transformation necessitates a thorough re-examination of existential categories (freedom, loneliness, death, fear) in contemporary digital society. Aim. To analyze consciousness transformation under the effect of sociovirtual environments, to investigate the specific characteristics of emerging socialization models in the digital age. Methods. Integrated methodological approach combining: phenomenological analysis of subjective experience, interdisciplinary perspectives from philosophy, psychology, and sociology, qualitative assessment of cognitive and behavioral adaptations. Results. The findings reveal several key transformations: significant alterations in cognitive functions, including reduced capacity for deep reflection and critical information processing, а fundamental shift from experience-bearing subjectivity to data-operating agency, disrupting traditional internalization. The emergence of characteristic psychological phenomena in digital environments: emotional desensitization, cognitive dissonance, epistemological loneliness. A reconfiguration of existential experience, marked by the loss of uniqueness perception through constant reality-switching behaviors. Conclusions. The study highlights the need for new approaches to psychological adaptation and identity formation in digitizing societies. It provides foundational insights into consciousness evolution in digital environments and identifies important directions for future research in digital humanities and cognitive science. The findings contribute to our understanding of how pervasive digitalization is transforming fundamental aspects of human experience and cognition.
