Institutional barriers and incentives for youth involvement in social initiatives: a sociological analysis
In the context of Russia current socio-political development, the younger generation is increasingly ac-ting not simply as recipients of state support, but as independent participants in transformation. Being aimed at ensuring conditions for the personal and professional self-fulfillment of young people, the state youth policy promotes initiatives focusing on social development. However, the success of such programs is directly linked to their ability to address existing barriers and internal motivations that determine the level of young people's participation. Addressing this pressing issue requires an in-depth sociological study of the factors affecting youth motivation and engagement, as well as the development of well-founded proposals for improving support systems. Aim. To identify key institutional factors that facilitate or hinder youth participation in social projects through the ana-lysis of empirical data and theoretical frameworks. Methods. Surveys, content analysis of regulatory documents, and expert interviews. Results. Young participants in social initiatives most often encounter bureaucratic difficulties, insufficient and opaque funding, poor awareness of support opportunities, formalism in project evaluation, and limited infrastructure. Overcoming these barriers requires modernizing institutional mechanisms, implementing digital services, increasing transparency, and developing a mentoring system.
