HAPPINESS IN THE VOLUNTEERS' VIEWS

In this article, we will look at the concept of happiness of Olympic volunteers who have significant experience of volunteering within the framework of an international sporting event. We relied on the results of a study that was conducted using online survey methods and interviews with volunteers. The results of our study showed that more than half of the volunteers consider themselves happy people. Moreover, more than half also told us that they think the people around them are also happy. When highlighting the interpretations that volunteers invest in the concept of «happiness», the most popular answers were the following: health of one's own and loved ones; family, children and loved ones; material well-being; professional implementation. It is worth emphasizing separately that the participants in the study – volunteers, assess the internal state of a person with a feeling of happiness much higher and assess the significance of external circumstances lower.
