Leadership transformation in the artificial intelligence era: new contours of managerial competencies development
The article examines the transformation of approaches to leadership skills development under the influence of artificial intelligence technologies. Relevance and aim. Stem from a qualitative shift in the nature of managerial labor due to artificial intelligence technologies: modern leaders increasingly manage not only people and their own intellect, but also artificial intelligence agents, necessitating an analysis of the transformation in leadership skills development approaches. Methods. Comprehensive analysis of leadership skills transformation under artificial intelligence impact and systematization of practical approaches to leveraging artificial intelligence in leader development. Results. Artificial intelligence tools enable more objective assessment of leadership potential, identification of hidden talents, resource savings, and enhanced team efficiency. Findings. Identified risks include the «rut effect», atrophy of intuition, and algorithmic bias, necessitating adherence to the «human-in-the-loop» principle; scientific novelty lies in integrating Western and Russian studies into a unified theoretical framework. Practical significance – the proposed models can be utilized by HR specialists and executives for designing leadership development systems. Forecast to 2030 encompasses five trends: hybrid leadership roles, rising value of human-centricity, regulatory frameworks, democratization of leadership education, and personalized development.
