WELL-BEING PHENOMENON IN THE CONTEXT OF EXISTENTIAL AND ONTOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING

The paper analyzes the well-being phenomenon from the standpoint of ontological approach. The aim of the research is to reveal the existential-ontological aspect of the well-being phenomenon through the prism of understanding the problem of relationship between personal and public good. Methods: the methods of explication and comparative analysis, philosophical and historical, ontological and hermeneutic approaches. Results. The paper demonstrates the interrelation of the well-being phenomenon with such notions as good, happiness, meaning of life, activity, goal setting. It is substantiated that well-being as an ontological concept is multidimensional, its understanding is not reducible with satisfaction with the possession of external benefits based on incoming values. Well-being is a universal resource, the desire for possession of which will affect certain coordinates in order to acquire the ontological stability of a person acting in different modes of existence. In the history of philosophical thought, an antisocial and sociocentric position is highlighted in relation to the interpretation of the existential well-being phenomenon. Findings. The conclusion is made on
the dialectical nature of the substantive aspects of ontological well-being, which has qualitativephenomenological characteristics. It is related to the definition of the meaning of life, the experience of being happiness, with a measure of success in implementation of an individual existential project. It opens up to a person as insight, a sudden experience of events of personal fulfillment, authenticity and uniqueness of one’s own being, events of gaining not only material, but also spiritual happiness and good.
