TERRORISM AS A STRUCTURE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH

The article considers terrorism as a construct (ideal object) of research in various sciences. The relevance of the research topic is caused by the fact that terrorism is one of the vital and intractable problems of the modern world. The surge of terrorist acts makes it necessary to study their causes, the specifics of the content and forms of manifestation. The need for a comprehensive study and analysis of modern terrorism, its role in the ongoing processes of public life, genesis and development trends, manifestations of the essence, structure, forms and functions now (in the context of globalization) is of particular importance. The relevance of the study is also determined by the need to develop a single, universal interdisciplinary definition of the «terrorism» notion, since there is no the uniform one (from existing in different branches of science) of this phenomenon. The authors emphasize that the actualization of this world problem is currently brought up to a wide discussion of the world scientific community, and it is a huge scientific platform for research and experimentation. It is argued that the phenomenon of terrorism has been studied sufficiently only in certain aspects: socio-political and socio-psychological. The authors have established that the fundamental reasons for the emergence of terrorism, its development, and moral aspects can be fully investigated using a methodology developed in philosophical science. The aim of the research is to show that terrorism as a global phenomenon in its modern forms is one of the most actively, comprehensively studied current problems of our time. The theoretical methods of a research: the complex analysis, synthesis, classification, an axiological method, were applied. Results. The authors concluded that terrorism today has the status of a serious «player» on the world political arena; proved the necessity of expanding and deepening knowledge about the essence, content, structure, forms and functions of modern terrorism as a destructive social phenomenon in a globalizing world; proposed scientific literature, which can serve as a basis for analyzing and studying various forms of manifestations of terrorism, as well as other manifestations of radicalism and extremism in society, including the literature that can be used when writing works on the problems of modern terrorism.
